Brother Jim Eschbacher Update -  Retired - E-19, 08/31/80

Please continue to keep Jim in your thoughts and prayers. Since the last update, Jim has been hospitalized 5 times, along with visits to the local Emergency Room. The placing of a pacemaker is working effectively and has regulated his heart. However, he has developed pneumonia. Despite taking large amounts of antibiotics and steroids, every day several pints of fluid must be drained from his lungs. A chest tube was inserted to assist with his breathing.

Jim remains positive and in good spirits and is quick to give credit to his wife, Pat, and granddaughter Amber for their excellent care.

Firefighter Kenny Edwards, a member of the Asheville, NC Fire Department, who responded to the Eschbacher residence on the original 911 call, has demonstrated why our profession is called “The Brotherhood” by mulching and maintaining the yard.

Jim and Pat (and Amber) would love to hear from their friends up north. They can be reached at The Eschbacher’s, 1126 Burnside Drive, Asheville, NC  28803.
