A Message to President Sneed from Council Chairman Phil Mendelson:

Ray, I put language in our committee report which was adopted unanimously by the committee, this afternoon, recommending that the Council restore the step increases for FEMS personnel – reject the Mayor’s proposal to freeze step increases for 17 months.  As I stated to you and other members of Local 36 earlier this week, I am committed to seeking Council approval.  FEMS personnel should be treated the same as MPD personnel in this matter and I expects that the funds will be found by the time the Council votes on the budget May 26^th.
